Derban Poison

The latest in my Pretties series

Poison
snaking out of fingertips
Leaking into laced drinks
And pouring viciously from ruby red lips;
Streaking through my veins,
It takes its course
Like white hot lightning-
Shocking,
Startling,
Consuming.
This magic is pervasive,
Evasive
And cruel-
These lies are second only
to the ache in my failing heart,
And the poison you put there.
